Short StoryAs the sun rose and fell, nothing could wrench the solitary figure from its unmoving trance. Her knees had grown sore from hours of kneeling on the hard earth, and though her shoulders had halted their fitful shaking, rivers of tears still stained her porcelain cheeks. The soft haunting chords of the church organs funeral march had long since drifted away on the southerly breeze, carrying with it the mass of people who had gathered to pay their final respects at the modest marble head stone. I sit in the darkness, The room in which I hide, Is so empty, With no-one to confide.
The walls get thicker, With every passing day, The door gets heavier, From words I cannot say.
With all my fear, Maybe I’m insane, But can you tell me, You’ve never felt the same?
So here I sit, Sound swelling around me, I’m happy here, But never free.
The blade finds my flesh, Again and again, Before I turn, And pick up my pen.
The words flow, Emptying my soul, Leaving me
